“Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;”
1 Peter 2:11
Refrain and keep away from all lust exclaims the apostle, Peter. Fleshy lust will war against the soul, so if your soul is not in peace, it may be due to some kind of lust. The flesh is at war against the Spirit states the apostle Paul in Galatians 5:17. In verses 19 to 21 of Galatians chapter five, the works of the flesh are listed such as envy, hatred, jealousy, strife, and fornication. If a Christian falls into sin through lust, then we all have an advocate with Father, Jesus Christ the righteous [see 1 John 2:1] for the remission of sins. It is through prayer that we ask God to take the desire of the flesh away and seek forgiveness. Let us all have an honest conversation among all men and continue to keep away from all lusts that war against our soul.
