Being Predestined According to His Will

We have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will,” Ephesians 1:11

Are we predestined according to the will of God? Some say “yes,” and some say “no.” The word predestined means foreordained from the beginning of the world. People like to think that they have control over their own destiny. Societies are based upon some kind of political agenda whereby people are ruled by some kind of law. Not all have the freedom of democracy. As America nears towards the election date and ballots are coming in, I would urge everyone to pray for America. For those of us who are living in America, pray for wisdom on how to vote, for this will be a historical decision for all Americans.

Whatever the outcome, know that God will work out all things after the counsel of his own will as stated in Ephesians chapter one, verse eleven. As Christians, we have obtained an inheritance that was foreordained from the beginning of this world through Jesus Christ. This is good news, for we know there is good and evil in this world. There are events divinely made through the Spirit of God, and events that are divinely permitted by God. Let us remember that God is not the author of evil.

The apostle Paul stated, “for the mystery of iniquity doth already work; only he who now hindered will continue to hinder until he be taken out of the way, ” [see 2nd Thessalonians 1:7]. God will reveal the mystery to those who belong to him. It is as Jesus said to his disciples, “it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given,” [Matthew 13:11]. These mysteries will be divine revelations which will be unfolded to those who have an inheritance through salvation. Deliverance of the soul from sin comes through Jesus Christ.

Christians should know the will of God as it is stated in the Holy Bible. The Bible is God’s will and testament.

“Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:” Ephesians 1:9

Has He made known unto you the mystery of his will? It is Christ in you, the hope of glory, [see Colossians 1:27]. Jesus is our corner stone, our only foundation. We are a holy temple built into the habitation of God through the Spirit, [see Ephesians 2:22]. Remember that God is omniscience [all-knowing], and His decision is eternal. We must believe that He is the great “I am.” His word is final. Listen to what Peter said in 1st Peter 1:23.

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

We are born again of incorruptible seed by the word of God. His word is a living word that abides forever. We believe by faith in Jesus, for Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith [see Hebrews 12:2]. This is our inheritance, and the divine will of God that we are seated together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus [Ephesians 2:6]. Remember who you are in Christ and keep your position in Christ. Through the blood of Christ, all things are reconciled unto himself, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven [see Colossians 1:20]. Remember your inheritance through Christ.

NOTE: This is the last post for this year 2024. I pray that these posts encouraged your faith and that you continue to grow in the love of Christ. As we enter into the holiday season, take time to read the word and other posts you may have missed. Take time to pray with your family and share the word with each other. Let us continue to pray for each other to keep us safe during the holidays in the name of Jesus. Remember to submit to God and resist the devil and He will flee from you.
