“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Revelation 3:20
Behold I stand at the door and knock. Who is knocking at the door? It is Jesus knocking at the door. What does He want? He wants to talk to you. He wants to talk to you about your soul and heart. Last September there was several prophesies about “the door.” Whenever there is a prophesy, it is to be tested with what the word of God has already stated in the bible. Last September I wrote about “The Door and the Word” in context of the word of God which converts the soul of man.
It is Jesus who is knocking at the door. It is Jesus who is calling out to those who would hear His voice and open the door. Now I would like to address the end of this verse, where the door is open, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me. This is talking about relationship. What kind of relationship shall man have with God? This relationship is based upon the love of God. For God so loved the world that He gave us His Son [see John 3:16]. God sent us his Son that we might be saved. To be saved from an enemy [Satan], troubles, or illness. To build our faith up to be strong in the Lord.
We must believe in the word of God that He will truly save us from death and the evil one. Our soul needs deliverance but we must have faith in God for that deliverance. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith [see Hebrew 12:2]. All man should honor the Son as they honor God [see John 5:23]. Jesus said that he and the Father are one [see John 14:20]. As Jesus had a relationship with the Father, so shall we have a relationship with Jesus and the Father. Are we ready to come and dine with the Lord? Remember from where you have fallen and repent. God is looking upon those who know the Lord and are able to testify of Him. Do you have a testimony of Christ?
The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Revelation 19:10
The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. Whatever is prophesied must have the testimony of Jesus. The Holy Spirit will always point to Jesus [see John 15:26]. We are saved through Jesus who gives us the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit. Love flows through the Holy Spirit through the human body. This is an experience due to the relationship we have through Christ. Do you have this relationship of love through Christ? Is it burning within your heart.
If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
John 14:23
Do you love Him and are you keeping His words? We must have the love of God living within our spirit and soul in order to keep His words. We must love others, for He has loved us. This is relationship. This is of the character of Christ. The image of Christ love works through us by the Holy Spirit. We are able to ask, seek and knock at His door and know that He will answer us.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
Matthew 7:7
If we do not have love in our hearts, then we must ask in order that it shall be given unto us. Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. First it is Jesus knocking and now you are knocking at his door. This is relationship. The door swings both way in order to gain insight and wisdom to the truth of what He is teaching us. We must get to the point of being overcomers in this world and not be defeated, brought down in fear and torment. ”There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear,” [see 1 John 4:18]. We must have the communion of the Holy Spirit whereby we can worship God in spirit and in truth. As we pray in the spirit and ask Him to give us what we lack, it will be opened unto us. Let us come into Him and sup with him and he with me. Let us read daily His word to gain revelation of who He is and how He will stand strong on our behalf. As we become a testimony for Jesus, He will set before us an open door that no man can shut, for we have kept His word and have not denied His name [see Revelation 3:8].
God knows the works you have done in His name. Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. He will humble you when you get above yourself.
Be not overcome of evil but overcome evil with good.”
Romans 12:21
Relationship with Him will allow you to overcome evil with good. Relationship is being filled with the Holy Spirit. In Acts chapter two, verse 38 states, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Have you received the gift of the Holy Ghost? This is relationship. For if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Are you hearing his voice? Are you reading His Word? Have you opened the door where rivers of living water shall flow out of your belly, [see John 7:38]. The river of living water is the Holy Spirit. Every believer should receive the Holy Spirit.
This gift is for you today. Open the door today and allow Him to come in and sup with you. Let go of the hate, bitterness, and selfishness. Whatever is holding you back let it go in the name of Jesus. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse you from all evil and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.
He will come and make you whole. He will give you the gift of the Holy Spirit to help you and guide you in your relationship with him. What joy you will have when you open your heart to Jesus and believe that He is the son of God who died for us because He first loved us. Remember Jesus is saying, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.”
