The Carnal Mind

The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” Romans 8:7

What is the carnal mind? The carnal mind is the unregenerated man. A man who falls to doing adultery, fornication, witchcraft, hatred, envy, drunkenness and murder. The apostle Paul tells us in Romans 7:23, “I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” Enmity is hostility against God. Man has become a stranger and enemy to himself and with others. Anything that hinders spiritual growth, must be given to God. Take up the cross and deny anything that would keep you from your relationship with God. This is mortifying the deeds of the body and mind. This is being not captive to the law of sin. This is being reconciled with God through the power of the Spirit of Christ. We need the resurrection power of Christ, who dwells in us to cleanse our mind to that of Christ. The old nature dies in order that Christ’s nature comes forward into our mind, where we have peace with God and man.
